“Return to Arkham and experience two of the most critically acclaimed titles of the last generation – Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, with fully remastered and updated visuals“

The Arkham games are wonderful. I remember when Arkham Asylum came out I was in 6th grade and this game blew me away. A more serious, realistic Batman set in the creepy Arkham Asylum with a good story and tons of collectibles? Sign me up. Arkham City aimed to be bigger and better in every way, I was so hyped for it and spent so many hours in that game. Never played Arkham Origins, and Arkham Knight was good too.
Return to Arkham (which includes remasters of Asylum and City) was a PS4 release, although I had no interest in picking it up in 2016. At the time I thought “I have Arkham Knight, why would I want to go back to these PS3 games?”. Well fast forward 6 years, and my outlook has completely changed. Enough time has passed that games from my Wii / PS3 era I would instantly buy again if they had a PS4, PS5, or Switch remaster. So how does Return to Arkham feel?
Well, this is still the same awesome experience that looks a little bit better with some visual improvements. Unfortunately that’s pretty much all Return to Arkham has to offer. Sure all the DLC is included, but load times don’t feel much better compared to how they used to be and compared to something like the Nathan Drake Collection, the visual upgrades are kinda lackluster.
Although I will admit – going directly to City after completing Asylum made me realize more than I ever did before that damn, the development team really stepped it up.
RIP Kevin Conroy.
